Man wanted for aggravated assault of state trooper arrested

Dwayne Brown, 32, was taken into custody Sunday night.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol were looking for Brown after he assaulted a state trooper following a traffic stop around 1:30 Saturday morning in the Kingstree area of Williamsburg County, according to deputies.

Charges for the sheriff's office include Attempted Murder, Unlawful Carry of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime and

Possession of a Weapon by an Unlawful Person (felon).

For Highway Patrol, Brown faces Driving Under the Influence charges and Resisting Arrest with Deadly Violence.

He was brought into the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office by his attorney.
