A man was shot in the leg and managed to walk down a street in Loris looking for help.
Tyler Bryant Hemm, 25, was shot outside a home in the 2000 block of Bayfield Lane on Tuesday afternoon, according to an Horry County police report.
When police arrived on scene they found Hemm sitting on the ground outside the home with a towel wrapped around his leg, the report added.
Police say it appeared that he had walked to the home from some other nearby location, where he was shot.
The man who lives in the home Hemm walked to said he called 911 when he realized Hemm had been shot, the report states.
Police added that Hemm could not tell officers anything about the shooting when they asked for more information.
The report stated that Hemm also appeared to be intoxicated.
A nearby witness said she heard a gun shot and went to the door of her home and saw dust from the roadway. She was unable to provide a description of the car.
Hemm was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for his injury.
