Man sentenced in deadly crash that killed his passenger

Evgeny Bolotov was sentenced Wednesday.

Evgeny Bolotov, who ran from the scene of a deadly accident last year, has been sentenced to ten years in prison, which was suspended to five years.

Bolotov was charged with Reckless Homicide after he ran a red light at the corner of Robert Grissom Parkway and Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach last December, killing his passenger, Sereey Kharlamov, 26.

Assistant Solicitor Travis Hyman, who prosecuted the case, had asked for the maximum ten year sentence. He said based on Bolotov's age and lack of a prior record, the judge suspended it to five.
