A Conway man has been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a man at a home in Socastee last year.
An Horry County jury returned the guilty verdict against 31-year-old Marcus Wright on Thursday after two hours of deliberation.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jerome Green of Socastee was shot to death in April 2012.
Wright on Thursday denied shooting Green.
Wright also was convicted of trafficking cocaine for which he got 25 years, distribution of cocaine base for which he got 15 years, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime for which he got five years. All the sentences are to be served consecutively.
Wright was arrested three times while he was out of jail awaiting trial. Prosecutor Donna Elder says one of those charges was soliciting someone to kill a witness.
