A man is dead after a motorcycle crash that happened around 8:15 p.m. on the corner of Highway 501 and Robert Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach.

Andre Price, 46, of Lumberton, was pronounced dead about an hour later at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

Price was driving a

2012 Kawasaki motorcycle heading south on Highway 501, and was about to go through an intersection on a green light, according to Captain David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

A white panel work style van was northbound on Highway 501 and turned left onto Robert Grissom Parkway.

Knipes said the van didn't yield the right away, and turned in front of Price.

The motorcycle skidded. According to witnesses, Price was thrown off the bike and hit the passenger side of the van.

The van took off, heading south on Robert Grissom Parkway, and the only description they have is that it is a white panel work-style van with some type of rack and a blue tarp on the top. It also has dual doors and windows on the back.

Anyone with information on the wreck or the van is asked to call police at 843-918-1382.
