Russell Hall, Jr., 67, of Myrtle Beach, died November 15, one day after Horry County police say he was pushed to the ground in a gas station parking lot during a fight.

Three people are charged in connection with the fight.

Russell Leroy Witkowski, 23, and Anthony Thomas Witkowski, 24, both of Conway, are charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Accesory after the fact of a felony.

A 15-year-old, who is in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, is charged with Voluntary Manslaughter.

November 14, officers responded to the Wilco gas station on Highway 544. They say they learned that the Witkowskis and the 15-year-old had been kicked out of a bar in the area and got into an altercation with Hall.

Police said Hall was knocked unconscious for a short time when he hit his head on the concrete, but was alert and talking to officers when they arrived.

They said he refused treatment from Horry County Fire Rescue, but died the next day as police were seeking warrants in connection with the case.

Detectives took over the investigation and said they learned the Witkowskis had been drinking with the 15-year-old in the bar before confronting Hall in the Wilco parking lot.

The men and the teen were taken into custody November 16.

Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said Hall didn't tell anyone about the fight, but when he collapsed the next day and died, an autopsy was ordered. It showed he died of the head injury.

Horry County police say more charges are possible.
