Man charged in connection with shooting, deadly wreck

Horry County police have charged Michael Scott Stevenson in connection with a shooting and deadly wreck on December 17th on Socastee Boulevard, according to Horry County spokesperson Lt. Robert Kegler.

Stevenson is charged with Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder.

The wreck happened around 5:30 a.m. at 4481 Socastee Boulevard near the Kangaroo gas station.

A Myrtle Beach man, Elvan Douglas, 35, was killed, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler. He died of multiple trauma due to the car wreck.

Kegler said a shooting on Luttie Road was reported prior to the wreck, and he confirmed it is connected to the crash. He said four people in two separate cars were involved in this incident.

Police are still looking for Ronald Terrel Hamlet, 28, in connection with the incident.
