Man arrested for leaving dog in rain with no food or water

A man accused of leaving his dog out in this rain has been charged with Ill Treatment of Animals.

Myrtle Beach police say Chaz Jackson left his dog tied up outside a house off 4th Avenue North with no food or water in the rain and wind.

When police showed up just before midnight Monday, they say the dog was surrounded by trash and unsafe items. They say they could also see its rib cage, according to the police report.

Police say Jackson admitted to tying the dog up, but didn't know what time he did it. He said he did not leave food out because he only feeds the dog twice a day, the police report states.

The dog was taken to Myrtle Beach Animal Shelter.
