Florence police charged Ekwuqcha McCall, 41, with Defacing Capitol Grounds and Disturbing Schools. Police say he goes by the name Amichi.
He went into an elementary school and left a note that had his phone number on it and asked they call if they were interested in oral sex, police say.
They say it was intended for an employee, not for children.
Florence School District One released information Thursday. They say McCall left a note on a table at Royall Elementary School on March 27. Office personnel saw it and picked it up and gave it to the principal.
School officials reviewed the surveillance video and turned it over to police.
McCall turned himself in, according to the school district.
According to the principal, at no time was any student at the school exposed to the note.
"The safety of the students and staff at Royall continues to be our primary concern," said Royall Elementary Principal Julie Smith in a press release.
Police say they have been finding notes and small letters around Florence with the same message on it.
They recently found it in marker on the Rail Trail.
