Man arrested for DUI, accused of hitting pedestrian

Myrtle Beach police arrested Audrey Valerevich Gumenyuk, 34, Tuesday morning for Driving Under the Influence.

Police say he was trying to leave a parking lot across from River City Café on 21st Avenue North when he hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk.

They say when he stopped for the pedestrian's friend, he got out of the car and punched her in the eye.

The pedestrian that was hit with the car threw him on the ground and security helped secure him until police arrived.

Gumenyuk suffered a small cut to the head, according to the police report.
