As of Thursday night, the Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council board is under new leadership. The board elected new officers who will serve through December 2012.
Former Chairman Zacharius Grate was officially taken off the board.
The board's current director, James Pasley, Jr., says the organization that Grate represented on the board pulled their support.
Grate was facing allegations of dereliction of duty, and conduct unbecoming of an officer.
David Eagleton faces the same allegations. But he remains on the board and is no longer the chairman. Pasley says the the process for his possible removal was initiated tonight.
Pasley says with the changes made the group can move forward and beyond the controversy.
The Waccamaw EOC serves Williamsburg, Georgetown and Horry counties. They provide financial assistance to people who have trouble paying utility bills or rent.
