Longs woman accused of shooting at nephew

A Longs woman is charged with four counts of Assault and Battery 1st Degree, after a shooting over the weekend.

Ella Machado Weiss, 59, was booked Sunday into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Horry County police were called to Victor Road in Longs Saturday night, for reports of a woman shooting at a vehicle while people were inside.

Officers met with multiple victims parked nearby.

One of the victims said he was living with his aunt for a few months, but had just moved out.

He said he went back to her house to get some of his things, when Weiss questioned him about taking her flowers and plants, according to the police report.

The victim claims the items belong to him.

He said Weiss went into the house and got a gun. He told officers Weiss pointed a gun at a Toyota with three people inside.

Then he said Weiss opened fire on a Mitsubishi car with three other people inside, including him.

No one was hurt.

Officers found a fresh shallow hole in the back of the Mitsubishi.

Weiss said she fired shots into the air, not at the car, only because two of the victims said they had guns.

She was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Monday after posting $40,000 bond, according to an official at the jail.
