Ryan Sean Bowlen, 26, of Little River, is accused of using the web site Craigslist.com to solicit sex from someone he believed to be an underage child.
The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrested Bowlen March 23rd and charged him with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor, Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Second Degree, and Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor.
Deputies say the "child" who answered Bowlen's ad on Craigslist was an undercover Georgetown Sheriff's Deputy. They say Bowlen emailed and text messaged the person he thought was a child for eight days, eventually arranging to meet the child for sex, and was arrested upon his arrival.
The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office made the arrest as part of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.This is the 306th arrest for the Task Force.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
