Laurinburg suspect charged in car break-ins now faces more trouble, charges
Laurinburg, N.C. (WPDE) —
Timothy Williams, 23, who is already charged in a string of car break-ins in Laurinburg, now faces a burglary charge as well, according to Major Rueben Castelleon with the Scotland County Sheriff's Office.
Castellon said deputies received a tip from the Laurinburg Police Department Detective Division indicating that Williams was in custody on a city charge.
He said Williams and Cortney Tew, 20, were found in possession of several items believed to have been stolen from a home in Scotland County.
Deputies charged the pair in connection with breaking/entering into a building and stealing a riding lawnmower and other power tools.
Williams and Tew are being held at the Scotland County Detention Center.
