The Folds Of Honor Foundation awarded three college scholarships in North Myrtle Beach on Wednesday Morning.
The organizations helps the children of fallen or wounded service members like Staff Sargent Andrew Montgomery.
The Army veteran, who has been medically retired, was injured three times while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Montgomery and his family now call Myrtle Beach home, and say they're happy to live in an area that supports veterans.
"One of the toughest things when you go to the civilian world from the military is feeling connected to your community and there's no greater honor than this and I know my kids are going to make this community proud with these scholarships," Andrew said.
Three other families that have also received scholarships from Folds of Honor were also at Wednesday's ceremony. Bill Pearson, with the Tidewater Patriot Day Golf Tournament and Major Ed Pulido with Folds Of Honor spoke at the event.
