Inventors: Duke Energy wants to help

Duke Energy held a grand opening for its new Duke Energy Center for Innovation on West Carolina Avenue in Hartsville, Wednesday.

The company hopes to help technology focused enterprises by giving entrepreneurs the money and information needed to start up.

"It's a very good opportunity for an individual to have some good orders so that they can get into the process," said board member Max Welch.

The Hartsville center is one of a few going up around the state. They hope to help people in rural communities so the don't have to drive far. Anyone within 60 miles of a center can take advantage of its services.
