Inmate sets small fire at Lee Correctional Institution
Lee County, S.C. (WPDE) —
An inmate set some paper on fire around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to South Carolina Department of Corrections Communications Director Jeffery M. Taillon.
Taillon said it was put out within a couple of minutes without a fire extinguisher.
He added the correctional officers then opened the doors to let the smoke dissipate.
Lee Correctional Institution remains on lockdown since last Sunday's deadly riot where seven people were killed and 22 others badly hurt.
