The traffic shift at US 17 Bypass and SC 707/Farrow Road (Back Gate intersection) in Horry County was supposed to happen Monday evening, but has been postponed until Tuesday evening, April 16, due to additional preliminary construction activities.
Traffic was scheduled to move 100ft to the west and all southbound lanes on 17 Bypass at the interchange were to be switched on to ramps C and D.
The shift, which will now happen Tuesday night at 8 p.m., is expected to take anywhere between five to six hours.
Traffic signals will be out from 8:30 p.m. to midnight but local law enforcement will be there to direct traffic.
The speed limit will continue to be 45 mph.
The project, revamping the Highway 17/Highway 707 intersection, is in the 4th of 7 stages of completion.
