Hundreds without water

Hundreds of people did not have water in Laurinburg, NC, Friday night.

It's due to a water main break according to city officials who also say Forest Drive and Franklin Street were flooded.

Police blocked off those streets and directed traffic in that area.

Laurinburg City Manager, Ed Burchins, says there are problems with the aging infrastructure in the Westwood subdivision, including the water lines.

Burchins says crews are digging up the street to find out what caused the break.

Water should be restored to residents sometime Friday evening according to Burchins.
