Humberto upgraded, Becomes 1st hurricane of 2013 season

Humberto formed off of the African Coast in the Atlantic Monday morning. Over warm waters with very low wind shear, Humberto has slowly been strengthening and now has been upgraded to the 1st Hurricane of the 2013 Hurricane Season.

The storm's maximum sustained winds early Wednesday are near 75 mph (65 kph).

The storm is centered about 310 miles (500 kilometers) West-Southwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving NNW near 8 mph (13 kph).
