A group of volunteers is making sure Horry County students don't go to bed hungry this holiday season.
"Help for Kids" is a nonprofit group that started in 1989 and helps feed students in need.
The organization packs bags of food during the week and delivers the bags to students while they are out at recess on Friday's.
The teacher who identified the kids in need will secretly put a bag of food in the child's back pack so they will have food for the weekend.
"I have children and grandchildren that are so much more fortunate than these children and I want to give something back to the community," said Gail Saussaman, a Help 4 Kids volunteer.
Organizers say they feed 2,600 kids per week, and the numbers are continuously rising.
