House fire in Georgetown sends man to hospital

A man was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire in Georgetown Thursday morning, according to Chief Joey Tanner with the Georgetown Fire Department.

It started around 8:45 a.m. Thursday at a home on Winyah Street.

Tanner said two people were living in the home.

The fire appeared to have started in a wood stove, but the official cause is under investigation.
