Horry County teen hosts bone marrow donor drive

(WPDE)

An Horry County teen in need of a life saving transplant hosted an event Thursday night that could save more lives than just his own.

The idea behind the event was to get as many people as possible to see if they were a match for Devin Reynolds. And if they weren't a match, Reynolds said he wanted to be able to help someone else.

Reynolds said he really wants to get better so that he can get back to playing golf.

"I have ALD...it's a genetic disease, it like, messes up the brain," said Reynolds.

Devin's father, David Reynolds said, "It makes a normal 15 year old feel like they have dementia because neurologically, it goes on to affect their motor skills so they have trouble walking."

He said, "Our family has been blessed with incredible people helping."
