Horry County police is debuting a new mobile command unit.

The high-tech station cost about $600,000 and is equipped with technology to allow for better communication between agencies.

The unit might be used for the air show this coming April.

"There's going to be decision makers that are making decisions in an emergency situation but also we'll be communicating messages outward from the mobile command unit as well to keep the public informed about what's going on," said county spokeswoman Kelly Moore.

ABC15 engineers even went out on Tuesday to make sure that if there is ever a large-scale emergency in the county ABC15 News can work with the unit to deliver the information.
