Detectives with the Horry County Police Department are investigating a deadly shooting that happened around 2 p.m. Sunday at a home on Highway 701 North in the Loris area.
When officers arrived at the home, they found a man dead of a gunshot wound.
The victim is Ronald Hardee, 53, of Loris, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick.
"It's just something you don't see everyday. You don't just walk up and see a dead body especially somebody you see everyday and go to visit and drink beer with everyday," said Carl Spyridakos, a neighbor.
Police are treating it as a homicide.
