Horry County police charged a drug suspect they took into custody Thursday after a chase and brief manhunt
Horry County police narcotics units were conducting an undercover operation in the Racepath community off Highway 501 when a man in a car took off, according to Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler.
They chased the man north on Highway 31 to Grande Dunes, when the man got out of the vehicle and ran from officers, Sgt. Kegler said.
Officers established a perimeter near Watertower Road and used a K-9 unit to search for the man.
Sgt. Kegler says the suspect's name is Hermillian Feah Williams. On Friday, the Tabor City man was charged with Reckless Driving, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Resisting Arrest, Driving Under Suspension, Unlawful Turning, Improper Start, and Violation of Seat Belt Law
Myrtle Beach police Cpt. David Knipes says the chase resulted in two accidents in Myrtle Beach, one on Mercantile Drive. No one was hurt in that accident and Knipes said no report was taken.
The other accident, he said, happened at 29th and Grissom Parkway. Highway Patrol says it, too, was minor.
