Fire crews respond to reports of home hit by lightning
Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Wednesday night, Horry County Fire Rescue responded to reports of a home hit by lightning in Myrtle Beach.
According to Mark Nugent, public information officer for HCFR, crews were sent to a home on Sugar Mill Loop around 8 p.m.
The caller reported that they could smell smoke after a lightning strike, Nugent said.
Crews on scene reported nothing showing upon arrival but later confirmed that lightning had struck the house.
They said the damage was minor with some discoloration to the wood inside the home.
