Honor Flight: Through a Veteran's Eyes

November 11th, we honor our veterans, but for more than 80 Grand Strand and Pee Dee vets, the honor came early - in a trip to Washington D.C. to see the World War II Memorial.

In the video, we show you Honor Flight through the eyes of one of those veterans, Ray Davis of Hartsville.

Going into this assignment, we knew we wanted to find one veteran who could tell the story for all veterans.

And when Ray Davis got off the plane in Washington, his emotions overcame him - and us - and we knew we had found the right man.

Special thanks to NewsChannel 15 photojournalist Aaron Varnam, who spent the day with Ray and the rest of the veterans and put this story together.

And a special thanks to all the veterans and Honor Flight volunteers who made the trip possible.

The next Honor Flight will be May 18, 2012.
