      Homeless man accused of holding up Scotchman with hacksaw


      A homeless man robbed the Scotchman at 1101 3rd Avenue South with a hacksaw Thursday morning, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.


      Two employees told police a man walked into the gas station at 4:08 a.m. with a hacksaw at his chest, demanded cash from the register and jumped over the counter to grab it. He then left, but police say they found him walking a few blocks from the store.


      Myrtle Beach police charged Samuel Sanford Shorter, III, who told officers he's homeless, with Armed Robbery.


      Shorter is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail.
