Heather Elvis murder suspect moved to different jail

Tammy Moorer

The woman charged with the murder of Heather Elvis was moved Thursday to a jail in Georgetown County.

Elvis, 20, of Socastee was last seen December 17. She is still missing.

Tammy Moorer had been housed in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County since her arrest on February 21, along with her husband, Sidney Moorer.

It is not uncommon to separate co-defendants, according to Sergeant Jeff Benton, with the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

Last weekend, the couple was charged with Obstruction of Justice, Indecent Exposure, and Kidnapping in connection with Heather's disappearance.

Police filed murder charges against them Monday.

The couple is expected back in court the week of March 17.
