Hay bales cause fire in Dillon County
Dillon County, S.C. (WPDE) —
About 30 hay bales caught fire and burned Saturday night at a farm off of Oakland Road near Bakers Mill Road in Dillon County, according to Dillon County Station 1 Fire Chief Albert Mumford.
Mumford said he isn't sure what caused the bales to burn.
He added it took three fire departments and the S.C. Forestry Commission two hours to get the fire contained and under control.
The S.C. Forestry Commission is digging fire breaks around the remaining hay bales to keep any hot spots from spreading and causing another fire.
