Grand Strand recognizes World AIDS day

Many residents from the Grand Strand gathered to recognize World AIDS Day Saturday.

People with the Advocates for Positive Living gathered at Parrots Bar and Grill in Myrtle Beach with educational information about HIV and AIDS.

"Education is critical because there's so many myths associated with HIV and AIDS," said director Sheila Plowden. "A lot of people live under fear which prevents them from even getting tested."

DHEC currently offers testing for HIV and AIDS. For a full lists of testing sites in South Carolina click here.
