Grand opening held for Veterans Cafe in Myrtle Beach

The Veterans Cafe is a place where veterans can gather and share stories and a cup of coffee or just be together.

In February, it lost its original location at the old Air Force base (now The Market Common) because someone bought the property they were renting. Sunday, there was a grand opening at the new location in Northgate plaza, at the corner of Highway 17 Bypass and Highway 707.

150 people showed up to get free hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks and show their support for the restaurant.

The bigger location gives veterans even more room to display all the memorabilia that makes the place feel like home.

Organizers say the new location is doing well and is more accessible. Even though it's called the Veterans Cafe, it is open to everyone.

Sunday's event included a classic car show.
