South Carolina breweries can now serve food and the alcohol they produce in the same establishment.
Governor Nikki Haley was joined Wednesday by Senator Sean Bennett, Representative Derham Cole and Joseph Ackerman, President of Conquest Brewing Company, for a ceremonial bill signing of H.3512, the South Carolina Brewery Bill.
Among other changes, the new law allows South Carolina breweries to expand their business, create more jobs, and help improve the state's economy as a whole.
"We're always trying to find ways to make sure government doesn't get in the way of business in South Carolina. This bill is another way that we've been able to cut restrictions and allow our small businesses to continue driving our growing economy," said Gov. Nikki Haley. "Small businesses make up the vast majority of our economy and when they thrive, they create jobs - more jobs lead to a better quality of life for the people of South Carolina, and that has always been the goal."
