Gov. Nikki Haley to visit Front Street fire damage Thursday

Governor Nikki Haley, state and local officials will be updated on the emergency response operations, tour the damaged area, and brief media Thursday in response to the fire that destroyed multiple commercial and residential buildings in Historic Georgetown along the 700 block of Front Street.

She will brief the media at the Georgetown Town Square on the corner of Screven and Front streets at 10 a.m.

Local and state officials will be present including South Carolina Emergency Management Division Director Kim Stenson, State Fire Marshall Shane Ray, South Carolina State Senator Raymond E. Cleary III, South Carolina State Senator J. Yancey McGill, Georgetown County Emergency Management Division Director Sam Hodge, Georgetown Mayor Jack Scoville, Georgetown City Administrator Chris Carter, Georgetown City Police Chief Paul Gardner, Georgetown City Fire Chief Joey Tanner, and Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce President Brian Tucker.
