      Georgetown police investigate armed robbery

Georgetown police officers are investigating an armed robbery and looking for the man responsible, according to the Georgetown Police Department Facebook page.

Officers said a man got into the back seat of the victim's car on the 100 block of Orange Street Monday night and demanded money. Officers said he had a brown towel over his face and had a handgun.

They said the victim drove the man to an ATM at the Wells Fargo bank on Front Street. The victim withdrew money and gave it to the suspect, according to the Georgetown Police Department Facebook page.

The suspect told the victim to drive back down Front Street, but the victim jumped out of the vehicle. The suspect took off on foot.

      Officers canvassed the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Georgetown Police Department at 843-545-4300 or dial 911.
