      Georgetown man arrested on child porn charges

      Surmander Benjamin Drayton

      A man from Georgetown is charged with two counts involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.

      The South Carolina Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Surmander Benjamin Drayton, 38 on Friday.

      According to a release from the SC Attorney General's Office, an investigator from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department, another ICAC Task Force member, downloaded images containing child pornography from an IP address that traced back to Drayton. A search warrant was executed and Drayton was arrested.

      Drayton is charged with one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor second degree, a felony offense punishable by two to ten years imprisonment on each count, and one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor third degree, a felony offense punishable by up to ten years imprisonment on each count.

      The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
