Georgetown deputies searching for man who robbed, pistol whipped a man

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help finding the suspect in an armed robbery that happened Friday afternoon.

According to a news release from the office, around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies were in working in the Greentown area of the county on an unrelated case when a man, whose face was covered in blood, was seen walking on Player Road.

The deputies approached the man, and he said he had just been robbed and pistol whipped.

The release says that after the man was robbed and pistol whipped, the suspect ran into the woods off Player Road towards McDonald Road. It is believed he then got into a vehicle and left the scene, the release says.

Anyone who has information on the suspect, may have witnessed the robbery, or has any information about this event is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5102.
