Georgetown County passes new filming ordinance

Georgetown County Council passed the third and final reading of its film regulating ordinance Tuesday night.

The ordinance will require those who want to film in the county to acquire a permit prior to filming.

There will be an application fee on that permit, as well as restrictions on the time, place, and manner of filming.

Residents came up with the idea after CMT shot its reality show tentatively called "Party Down South" in a Murrells Inlet residential neighborhood.

A number of residents complained about the antics of some of the cast members and when they were filming.
