If you never thought you'd see gas prices fall below $3.00 a gallon, think again! Drivers are lining up at Sunhouse at 2698 Highway 90 in Conway to fill their tanks for $2.98 for a gallon of regular gasoline.
NewsChannel 15 talked to some of Sunhouse's customers, from near and far, and they sure were excited to see the sign and save.
"I'm glad to see it under $3! We did it! I run a wedding business and I'm also a pastor and I use lots and lots of gas, so this will really help me and prayfully help everyone who is coming to the beach," Lamar Boulware said.
"I'd like to see it in the low $2 range, but we know that's not going to happen," James Dutton said.
If you can't make to Conway, South Carolina's average price for gasoline is still in good shape compared to the rest of the nation. In fact, the Palmetto State's average of $3.11 per gallon is .42 cents less than the national average of $3.53, according to AAA.
Hawaii has the most expensive gas prices in the nation at $4.45 per gallon. Alabama isn't far behind South Carolina at $3.19 per gallon.
