Fundraisers set up to help with medical expenses for Scotland High School quarterback

The community of Scotland County has come together to help raise money for Scotland High School quarterback Jaylend Ratliffe who was critically injured after being thrown from an ATV last Tuesday.

Ratliffe suffered a brain injury and remains in a Charlotte hospital.

Close friends say Ratliffe is in critical, but stable condition.

T-shirts and an online drive have been established to help Ratliffe's family with medical bills.

An online fundraiser, at, raised $5,560 in 20 hours.

Bobbi Hale Lowe is designing and selling T-shirts bearing Jaylend's No. 2 and the word "strong" to help the family.

Lowe said they're getting t-shirt requests from all over the Carolinas.
