Monday afternoon, Lowery's family and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes.

"The church was packed from front to back and [I'm] just glad people came out to show their respect, you know. She touched so many hearts, so many lives," said Mia Sturdivant, a childhood friend of Ella's.

Songs, tears and even laughter filled the Sawmill Missionary Baptist Church as loved ones shared memories of Ella Lowery.

"She was just a sweet person, didn't do no wrong to nobody, didn't hurt nobody, just been there for you, know so many people and I just hate that I have to come here for this. You know, I had just talk to her. We had just celebrated our birthdays, we're both Pisces," Sturdivant said.

Her family says she was a dedicated and loving mother of two who had her own unique style.

"She was one that was very caring. She never harm nobody, always compassionate, willing to help," said her cousin, Willis Brown.

The packed church showed Ella Lowery's family just how much the community loved her.

"Truly an honor to see all these people here who all had touched her life. I mean, you don't really see turn out like that for a funeral, but this happens, shows you the love that this community has for each other," said Brown.

The family cried out for Iyana Lowery during the service.

Ella leaves behind her 10-year-old son Tyreon, who's currently staying with relatives.
