Six people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery that happened Wednesday evening in Myrtle Beach.

Quashaun Clifton Bromell, 21; Akeem Dorrell Sherman, 20; Raheem Tyrez Williams, 19; and Issiah Thomas Gaskins, 21; are all facing multiple armed robbery and kidnapping charges, according to Captain Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach police.

Two other people, Shar-ah McCray and Shayla McCray, are charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of a stolen firearm, he said.

The charges come after officers were dispatched to 1011-1 Osceola Street, which ABC 15 later clarified as the Sandygate Apartments, shortly before 5 p.m. on Dec. 13 after a robbery call.

It was reported that two men were armed with weapons, according to Crosby, and multiple officers were called to the scene to attempt to locate the suspects.

A short time later, officers saw the identified the suspects in a vehicle and tried to stop them.

The suspects fled from the car and it was later learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen, according to Crosby.

Crosby said in a release Thursday afternoon:

Officers observed the suspects traveling in a white Jeep and attempted to stop the vehicle; however, all of the suspects fled on foot from the vehicle. With the assistance of K-9, all suspects were located and detained. Officers learned that the Jeep was reported stolen out of Horry County.

Police also identified other people involved in the robbery traveling in a gold Camry, according to Crosby.

Officers stopped the vehicle and deployed a K9 to conduct a "vehicle sniff," which resulted in a positive alert for the odor of drugs, Crosby said.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found approximately 24 grams of crack cocaine, and a stolen Glock 43 handgun.

The two occupants, Shyla McCray and Shar-ah McCray, were arrested and transported to the Myrtle Beach Jail.

Overall, five handguns were seized, according to police.

Crosby said additional arrest may be forthcoming and MBPD will request a review of the investigation by the ATF to determine if any of the charges will be adopted at the federal level.

We've requested a copy of the incident report and warrants.

ABC 15 got exclusive video from the scene when police were searching for the suspects.
