Dillon County Sheriff's Deputy Ken Rogers was sentenced to probation Monday after being charged with Assault and Battery Second Degree and Misconduct in Office, according to court officials.
The incident happened when Rogers responded to a call at a home on Walnut Street in Dillon County on July 20, 2013.
A copy of the warrant says Rogers used excessive force by slapping a man several times in the face, tasing him and pepper spraying the victim while the victim was restrained with handcuffs and leg shackles.
Rogers no longer works with the sheriff's office.
The State Law Enforcement Division investigated the incident on behalf of the Dillon County Sheriff's Office.
