Florence tax preparers indicted for fraud
Federal documents show Rachel Watson and Susann Allen were indicted by a federal grand jury this week and charged with Conspiracy to Defraud the United States and Aiding and Assisting in the Preparation of False Tax Returns.
The indictment says Allen and Watson were tax preparers with Express Tax and Fludd's Tax Services of Florence.
The women created false and fictitious tax forms to make their clients eligible for refunds to which their clients were not entitled, according to the indictment.
It says the crimes happened from January of 2009 through April 2011.
Watson and Allen will be arraigned at the Florence Federal Courthouse on July 17 in Florence.
