Florence police looking for bank robber

Florence police say a man robbed the Wells Fargo on South Irby Street about 11:55 a.m. Monday.

They say the robber got in line with the other customers, waited his turn and when he reached the counter, handed the teller a note. Police say the note had directions and indicated the man was armed.

The teller complied with the robber's request. Police say the man got some money and left through the door that led to the parking lot. They say he was seen getting into a silver vehicle, but they don't know if it was a car, SUV or truck.

The robber is described as possibly 45 to 50 years old, about six feet tall with a medium build. He had a dark brown, thick mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a red pullover sweatshirt, possibly with white letters, a ball cap and jeans.

There were other customers in the bank. No one was hurt.
