A Miracle League has been formed for children with special needs in Florence County.
The league was formed about a month ago and interested families can register children at Florence County Parks and Recreation until September 3rd, according to Allison King Carlton, one of the league's founding parents.
Registration is free and there will be one game played each week at 6 p.m. at Greenwood Baseball Park on Pamplico Highway starting on September 8, Carlton said.
Players need to bring their own equipment and a "Buddy" that is at least 16 years old, she said.
Miracle League is baseball for children four years and older with special needs who would not normally get the opportunity to participate in sports.
Florence County's Miracle League serves anyone living in the area within 60 miles.
