Florence County Economic Development employee charged with embezzlement

The Florence County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying Aneesa Giles, 29, was arrested on January 10, 2014 and charged with Embezzlement of Public Funds.

Investigators say Giles, an employee of Florence County Economic Development, used a Florence County credit card for unauthorized personal expenses in excess of $10,000 dollars.

South Carolina law states that the crime is a felony and could result in up to 10 years in prison and a fine determined by the court.

Giles was released from the Florence County Detention Center after posting a $1,500 dollar bond.
