Thanks to recent heavy rain and more through the weekend, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch now through Sunday evening for Horry, Georgetown, Florence, Marion, Darlington, Dillon, and Marlboro counties in the South Carolina part of our viewing area and Robeson County in the North Carolina part of our viewing area.
The combination of a stalled front and moisture rolling in off the Atlantic ocean and out of the Gulf of Mexico will produce periods of heavy showers and storms for the next three days.
The potential exists for many areas to receive 1" - 4" of rain with isolated amounts up to 6"
A flood watch means there is potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
