Fireworks will continue to light up skies over Murrells Inlet

Fireworks will go on as planned this Fourth of July in Murrells Inlet and each week this summer.

This year, MarshWalk business owners started hosting a fireworks display each Monday night at 10 o'clock.

But some residents complained about the noise and debris.

After meetings Thursday, Georgetown County told the MarshWalk business owners they can continue the display.

"We're excited about it. We've addressed the issues that arose, and we think we've addressed them to hopefully their satisfaction. And with that done, it will make for a more exciting summer for everybody," said Charlie Campbell, owner of Dead Dog Saloon.

The firework display will now have to move to 9 o'clock on Monday nights.

The Fourth of July celebration can go on as planned.
